H&H Bagels: New York's Legendary Bagel Brand Arrives in West Palm Beach

H&H Bagels opened its first shop in Manhattan in 1972, founded by Helmer Toro and Hector Hernandez, and spent 50 years as a strictly New York institution — one that turned up in a 1997 episode of Seinfeld and became a cultural touchstone before beginning to franchise nationally. West Palm Beach's Railroad Avenue location is part of that recent expansion into Florida.

A New York Institution Since 1972

The brand survived a bankruptcy and an ownership crisis over its five-decade history before being revived under new leadership starting in 2014, which set the stage for its move beyond New York into cities like Miami, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and now Palm Beach County.

Kettle-Boiled, Oven-Baked, Made Fresh Daily

Every bagel is still kettle-boiled and then oven-baked using the traditional NYC method, made with unbromated, unbleached flour and no artificial preservatives. Signature orders include the classic bacon, egg and cheese, a Nova salmon "the works" loaded with cream cheese, tomato, onion, and capers, and an avocado, egg and cheese.
