The 10-Week HSC Study Plan That Gets Students Into Their Dream Degree

Wednesday 22 July 2026·By Bright Minds Tutoring Centre

The HSC is a marathon, not a sprint — but the last 10 weeks are where the race is actually won. Here's how our highest-performing students structure their final preparation.

**Weeks 10–8: Consolidation**
Identify weak areas by doing 2–3 past papers per subject under exam conditions. Don't just read through them — grade them strictly, categorise your errors (knowledge gaps vs. execution errors vs. time management) and address each category specifically.

**Weeks 7–5: Deep Work on Weak Areas**
This is not the time to revise things you already know. Double down on the syllabus dot points where you're losing marks. Use the NESA marking guidelines religiously — they tell you exactly what markers want.

**Weeks 4–3: Speed and Accuracy**
Time yourself on every practice question. Most students lose marks not from lack of knowledge but from poor time allocation. Train your brain to write concise, high-mark responses quickly.

**Week 2: Final Consolidation**
No new content. Review your summary notes, redo your best practice papers and sleep 8+ hours each night. Your brain consolidates learning during sleep — treat it as study time.

**Week 1: Mindset and Rest**
Trust your preparation. Maintain light revision only. Prioritise sleep, nutrition and short walks. Anxiety spikes in week 1 are normal — channel it into sharp focus on exam day.

**The Single Best Thing You Can Do Right Now**
Book a diagnostic session with one of our tutors. We'll identify exactly where your marks are going and build a personalised plan around your trial dates.
