The almond croissant is the one people come back for, flaky and light with a soft center and just enough butter, and plenty of visitors will tell you it is the best they have found in Greenville. Right beside the pastry case sit small-batch chocolates and truffles made in house by the shop's chocolatier, which is what first put this little French bakery on the map.
The room itself is small and unfussy, a handful of tables inside and a bit of seating out front where dogs are welcome. Past the croissants you will find macarons, fruit tarts, eclairs, quiche, and proper French baguettes that carry over into the breakfast and lunch sandwiches, with coffee roasted in house to go with them. The owners also run hands-on croissant and chocolate-making classes, and the morning favorites tend to sell out, so getting there early on a weekend pays off.
It sits directly across South Main from Falls Park on the Reedy, in the historic West End, an easy stop before a walk across the Liberty Bridge or on the way to a game at Fluor Field.
