Flying Fox Coffee started as a mobile espresso cart working Greenville and the wider Upstate, and the inventive streak from those cart days is still the whole point. The owners opened their first permanent spot in Greer in 2022 and have kept building from there.
Today it runs out of a Trade Street storefront in downtown Greer, the former Stomping Grounds coffee-house space in the walkable Greer Station district. Co-owner Jeremy Hartman framed the move as a chance to build a fuller experience than a coffee counter, pairing the drinks with a chef-led kitchen.
The specialty lattes are where the character shows. They lean on house-made syrups and flavor pairings you won't find on every menu: the Violet Eyes runs coconut, lavender, and honey, the Broken Record layers brown sugar, cinnamon, and molasses, and a seasonal board rotates through things like a Smashed Pumpkin in the fall.
Reviewers tend to single out how consistent the drinks are pour after pour, with the honey-lavender latte among the ones they name most.
