Food was amazing. We celebrated my mom’s birthday and I was offered the chefs table during my reservation call with them. Nice little spot in the kitchen yet private from it. The paella was delicious, along with all the other plates we tried.

I have been here many many times since this restaurant has opened, and today was the worst experience I have ever had. We ordered the panceta wrapped shrimp, the sautéed shrimp, potatoes fritas, albondigas, a granny apple with walnut salad, elotes, shareable ahi tuna, shareable seafood plate along with drinks. Our water containers were left empty several times. The tuna plate came out cold and tasted like it had been sitting out for a long time before it made it to our table. The salad was drenched with dressing. The restaurant was not as busy as I had seen it before, yet we felt neglected. We waited over 40 minutes before we asked our server about the two sharable orders we had placed. We told the server to cancel the order and bring us our check, and then all of a sudden both orders were brought out to our table. The manager discounted our meal, but what we really wanted was good food at one of my favorite spots. I am very disappointed and will not be supporting this establishment anymore.

La Bodega is always a great choice. The food is consistently tasty, with plenty of flavorful options to enjoy, and the service is friendly and welcoming every time. One of my favorite parts is their outdoor patio—especially when the weather starts getting nice. It’s the perfect spot to relax, enjoy good food, and soak in the atmosphere. Definitely a place I keep coming back to and would recommend to anyone looking for a laid-back but quality dining experience in KC.

Some friends of ours who have lived in KC for a long time recommended La Bodega as one of their favorite places. I had a friend visiting from Washington DC and my wife and I wanted to take her someplace cool and close to the Westin where she was staying. La Bodega fit the bill. The food was good and the service was good. We had a variety of dishes. I enjoy the tapas experience. We ordered the first one, which was a special and it came out quickly and it was delicious. Then I ordered a few more things. And was a little bit surprised when they brought them all within two minutes of each other. So we had four different plates to try all at the same time and they were just getting colder as we worked our way through the dishes. The kitchen/server timing could’ve been better. That was disappointing. Great sangria, a nice atmosphere and a lovely restaurant.

La Bodega delivered an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. We ordered a variety of tapas to share, and everything was fabulous—both in flavor and presentation. The variety and balance of the dishes made for a fun and satisfying meal. We started with the Papas Fritas, which were crispy, perfectly seasoned, and addictive. The Albondigas Caseras (house-made meatballs) were rich and flavorful, served in a sauce that was perfect for soaking up with bread. The Vieras Romesco (seared scallops with romesco sauce) were tender and beautifully paired with the bold, nutty sauce. The Elote added a sweet and spicy contrast with creamy, smoky flavors that really stood out. The Octopus Pasta was unique and memorable—tender octopus over perfectly cooked pasta with a complex, savory sauce that tied everything together beautifully. Finally, the Dátiles con Jamón y Chorizo (dates wrapped in ham and chorizo) were a perfect mix of sweet, salty, and spicy—one of our favorites of the night. Service was excellent—attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly without being intrusive. The ambiance was vibrant and warm, making it a great place for a relaxed yet upscale evening.
