An exceptional restaurant to dine in! There is always something a little different on their menu so always check out their specials! Sushi is great quality and fresh. You can choose from all kinds of sushi, sashimi, rolls, bento boxes, shabu shabu options, and on and on and on! Service is attentive and staff are always informative. Dessert is always amazing. Their black sesame panna cotta is just divine! There is always rotating flavors and ingredients on their menu to keep you coming back for more. Always a delight!
We visited with our family after hearing great reviews about the food. The atmosphere was wonderful, and our server provided excellent service and presentation. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. The sushi was decent but fairly ordinary, and the steak in the bento box was disappointing. The sauce lacked flavor, and the meat wasn’t very tender. Overall, we enjoyed the ambiance and appreciated the outstanding service, but the food itself was average and left us wanting more.
Came here with my partner for a brunch outing with a reservation. Parking in a structure in Pasadena is a must with a small walk to this restaurant. (paid parking). First initial thought is that the restaurant is clean. We were greeted by the front receptionist and were immediately seated despite arriving a bit earlier for our reservation. Osawa has moderate amount of seating, modern interior, open sushi bar with chefs on the spot, a pleasant vibe when enjoying your meal. Staff is pretty attentive and checked multiple times, clearing plates when emptied, refills, etc. 1. We ordered the Crunchy Cucumbers as a appetizer and it was of course the first dish to come out. 16 pieces of cucumber, mixed in sauce, and as the name of the dish, it's crunchy and very savory. Nothing too special but it was very delicious to start the meal. It's also a great palate cleanser for after the meal, plus points for a shareable dish. 2. We were feeling some of the roll choices but for this occasion we decided on the salmon roll, which didn't disappoint at all. Usually for rolls, there would be a lot of excess rice but this roll had the perfect amount, which mixed really well with the dressing, salmon, and the meat inside. Perfect aesthetic and flavor. 3. For our main entree, we tried the weekend special sashimi lunch. A sea board full of sashimi, rice, and miso soup. All the fish on the board were exquisite and had a good spread out of each fish to distinguish which fish is which. Highly recommend mixing the fish with rice for extra savory flavor. The salmon and the fish flakes were definitely a standout on the board. Overall, Osawa food quality is amazing, great vibes inside, friendly and knowledgeable staff, food came out at a good pace as well, very satisfied with my visit. Perfect brunch outing.
Had a wonderful lunch at Osawa today. We both got the sushi lunch, which came with 8 nigiris, one tuna belly hand roll, and miso soup. It was $34 for this lunch combo. I wouldn’t mind paying this much for the quality of fish you get. Overall would come back to try the Shabu shabu and have another great sushi meal :)
Came for their tuna bowl special and was not disappointed! Very fresh fish and generous portions, was filling. The outdoor seating is great when the weather is nice. Servers were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. On the pricier side but was a nice splurge.
