There's a genuine story behind the health angle here. The concept comes from the family behind Lieu's Chinese Bistro and Otto Izakaya, a deliberate about-face from the fried, gluten-heavy cooking those places are known for, and it grew out of owner Chris Yun's own weight-loss and health journey. That intent shows up in the standards: mostly organic, non-GMO, local when the season allows, with gluten-free, vegan-friendly, and allergen-friendly choices built into the menu rather than tacked on.
The heart of it is the bowl. Grain or greens bases get loaded with proteins like grass-fed steak, organic chicken, or marinated tuna poké, then roasted vegetables, seeds, and house-made dressings. Most people land on the build-your-own, though the named bowls are worth knowing too, from the tuna-forward ohana to the steak-stacked carnivore. Around the bowls sit açaí and pitaya smoothie bowls, smoothies, toasts, superfood lattes, and even a vegan frozen yogurt.
It sits downtown a block off Main, in the old American Roadside Burger space, with room for about a hundred across the dining room and the patio. Portions run generous enough that regulars mention a single bowl stretching into two meals.
That kind of value, plus the freshness and the way a bowl arrives looking as good as it tastes, is what keeps the reviews warm and the regulars coming back. Plenty of people here have a standing order they've dialed in over dozens of visits, and which combination ends up being yours is the sort of thing that takes a few trips to work out.
