Set in an old belt factory on Augusta Street, Brick Street Cafe wears its history in the creaky floors, flickering lights, and mismatched decor that make the room feel like a grandmother's kitchen scaled up. For a lot of people in Greenville, though, it's simply where you order the cake when a birthday is coming.
The sweet potato cake, layered with homemade cream cheese icing, is the one that built the reputation, and it holds up against anything in the Upstate.
